James Ronald Scobel, 63, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PAThe son of Joseph R. and Bertha R. Obrotka Scobel, he was born, July 17, 1942 in Harwick, PA.Mr. Scobel attended the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville, PA.Surviving are his former wife and dear friend, Edith Baker Scobel of Blairsville, PA; three children, Autumn Shannon and husband, Bill of Blairsville, PA; Jeff Baker and wife, Kim of Reseda, CA and Dee Simon and husband, Paul of Blairsville, PA; three grandchildren, Hannah Simon, Callie Shannon and Colt Shannon; two brothers, Joseph Scobel of Lower Burrell, PA and John Scobel and wife, Diane of Springdale, PA; two sisters, Dorothy Black and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, NM and Susan Karan and husband, David of Minneapolis, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.Interment will be private.
