E. Byron "Doc" Svenson III, 61, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, August 5, 2005 in The Heritage Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, PA.The son of Elmer Byron Svenson II and Catherine W. Hunter Svenson, he was born April 26, 1944 in McKeesport, PA.Mr. Svenson lived in Plum Boro for 13 years and has lived the past 15 years in Blairsville. He was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, PA. He graduated from Mercer Island High School, Mercer Island, Washington in 1962 and from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1967.He worked as an assistant manager for Monroe Muffler, East Liberty, PA.Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Laura Lee Krasman Svenson whom he married on January 30, 1968; a son, Eric J. Svenson; two daughters, Laura Lee Woodward and husband, Thomas and Wendy Lou Cahill and husband, Paul all of Blairsville, PA; six grandchildren and a brother, Frank Svenson of Annadale, VA.He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Alainna Rosalie Cahill.Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7 to 9 P.M. for immediate family only and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, McKeesport, PA with Rev. Fr. Larry J. Kulick as celebrant.Interment will be in St. Mary's Polish Cemetery, White Oak, PA.
