Thomas Savage, 86, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The son of Thomas John and Mary Ferguson Savage, he was born October 12, 1918 in Larimer, PA.Mr. Savage was a member of the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church where he was a ruling elder, Irwin Shidle Lodge #601 F&AM, Pittsburgh Scottish Rite, Pittsburgh Syria Temple, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Westmoreland Forest #77, Westinghouse Air Brake Masonic Retirees Club, Jeannette BPOE #486, Elliott Retirees Club, Irwin VFW Post #781, a 64 year member of the Irwin Loyal Order of Moose #236, Manor American Legion #472and the AARP. He was a former member of the Irwin Lions Club and Irwin Male Chorus.He graduated from Norwin High School with the Class of 1936 and was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army Air Corps.Mr. Savage retired from Westinghouse Air Brake in 1964 and worked at Elliott Company, Jeannette, PA for 16 years, retiring in 1981 as a foreman.Surviving are his loving wife, Clara Howard Graham Savage whom he married on September 22, 2000; seven step-children, Richard L. Shoemaker and wife, Willa of Blairsville, PA; Thomas L. Shoemaker and wife, Cathleen of Hudson, OH; Twyla Mundy and husband, Wayne of Anchorage, AK; Karen Ruda and husband, Steve of Latrobe, PA; J. Thomas Graham of Moose Pass, AK; Lou Ann Bailey Porter and husband, Douglas of Morgantown, WV and Scott Graham and wife, Irene of Blairsville, PA; 16 step-grandchildren, Melissa Albright and husband, Steven; R.K. Shoemaker and wife, Meghan; Kelly Charlesworth and husband, Damian; Jason and Megan Shoemaker; Matthew Mundy and wife, Cherie; Andrew and Nathan Mundy; Marcie and Thomas Porter; Ian and Joshua Bailey; Zachary and Tyler Graham and Daniel and Paul Porter; four step-great grandchildren, Abigail, Kyle and Annika Albright and Kenna Mundy; a brother, Norman Savage and wife, Blanche of Gibsonia, PA and a sister, Rose Struble of Cerritos, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Donaldson Savage in 1970; second wife, Dorothy J. Rogers Shoemaker Savage on August 29, 1999 and two sisters, Susannna McConnaughey and Elizabeth Savage.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.Masonic services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 P.M.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.Memorial contributions may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, 137 N.
