Peter L. Madoni, 89, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PAThe son of Peter and Giovanna Laporti Madoni, he was born October 14, 1915 in Homer City, PA.Mr. Madoni lived most of his life in Blairsville where he was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church. He loved to garden and enjoyed cooking.He was a US Army veteran of World Ward II.Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was employed by Baleno Brothers Construction Co., Pittsburgh, PA as a carpenter for 30 years.Surviving are two children, Kathy Frola and husband, David and Daniel Madoni and fiancée, Patricia Paouncic, all of Blairsville, PA; two granddaughters, Leann and Lori Frola; a brother, Gilbert Lanzarotti of Blairsville, PA and a sister, Emma Guthrie of Irwin, PA.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys M. Madoni on March 29, 1975; three brothers, Victor, John and Mundo and a sister, Jennie Madoni.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 to 2 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday at 2 P.M. in the funeral home with Fr. Anthony Carbone officiating.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the Blairsville Public Library, 113 North Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717
