Robert C. Brown, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at his home.The son of John R. and Mary C. Barr Brown, he was born August 18, 1922 in Indiana, PA.Mr. Brown moved to Blairsville in 2002 from Indiana, PA. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Indiana, PA, life member of the Indiana VFW Post #1989 and the PA Motor Truck Association. He graduated from Indiana High School in 1939 and was a US Army veteran, having served in World War II.Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was the owner of Robert C. Brown & Son, Inc., Indiana, PA for 37 years.Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Viola G. Ruddock Brown whom he married November 23, 1944; a son, Terry L. Brown and wife, Barbara of Blairsville, PA and a daughter, Beverly A. Cramer and husband, Kevin of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Heather Zaffuta and husband, Sam; Holly Brown and Shelly Brown and a great granddaughter, Emma Zaffuta.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, R. Gregory Brown in 1997; a granddaughter, Julie K. Brown in 1997 and a brother, William Brown.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Monday from 1 to 3 P.M. the time of the funeral service in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PAMilitary services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.Memorial contributions may be made to the LAH Health Services/Hospice, Latrobe Area Hospital, 121 W 2nd Ave., Latrobe, PA 15650-9905
