Carolyn Theresa (Pace) Baker, 61 of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital. Born January 8, 1944 in Pittsburgh she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Clara (Galutzi) Pace. Carolyn graduated from Westinghouse High School then continued her education at The University of Pittsburgh for her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education. She was an English teacher for 27 years; the last 20 were with Blairsville in the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District. Surviving are her husband, David Baker of Blairsville; which she married December 23, 1967; a son Charles and wife Lynore Baker of Beaver Falls, PA; a daughter Rose M. Baldauf and her husband Thomas of White Oak, PA; and one sister Marilyn Basset, and her husband John of New Kensington, PA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an aunt, Rose Cataldo, who raised her and served as a mother figure since she was born.The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. 49 North Walnut Street, Blairsville, PA. A funeral Service will be held Sunday at 2:00 P.M in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Monroe officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
