Donald William Rook, 82, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 in St. Andrew's Village, Indiana, PA.The son of Oliver W. and Hazel Miller Rook, he was born May 21, 1922 in Buffalo, NY.Mr. Rook was a member of Teamsters Local #341 and he and his father were the first original members of the Monroeville Water Authority. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army.He retired in 1989 from Trumbull Corp., Pittsburgh, PA and also worked as a Sheriff and Chief of Police in Fargo, ND.Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Shirley Jean Smith Rook whom he married August 7, 1963 and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Winifred Prest.There will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA is in charge of the arrangements.
