Suzanne E. Wilkins Barto, 58, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of William E. and Alice R. Goodlin Wilkins, she was born January 31, 1947 in Latrobe, PA.Mrs. Barto graduated from Blairsville High School with the class of 1964. She studied nursing at St. Vincent College and Latrobe Area Hospital and took business courses in Greensburg. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed collecting and reading cookbooks and recipes. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver and reader who believed you should never stop learning.She will always be fondly remembered for her honesty, wit, her loving bright smile and warm heart. Her talent with words, which she so eloquently wrote and spoke sustained and uplifted many friends in good times and bad. Despite being ill for many years she always put others feelings and needs before her own.A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her loving husband of almost 37 years, George L. Barto whom she married June 1, 1968 and a beloved daughter, Beth at home and many friends and family. She will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her.She was preceded in death by her parents.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.
