Duane M. Ross, Sr., 82, of Blairsville, PA (Brenizer) passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in the Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.The son of Merle W. and Edna S. Spotts Ross, he was born July 30, 1922 in Glen Campbell, PA.Mr. Ross was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, PA.He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was employed by Torrance State Hospital for 27 years.Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Stella S. Pillock whom he married August 24, 1946; a son, Duane M. Ross, Jr. and his wife, Birdie of Blairsville, PA; two daughters, Barbara Bozelli and her husband, Steve of Elizabethtown, PA and Rosemarie Moore and her husband, Greg of Derry, PA; six grandchildren, Christie Stankiewicz, Stephen Bozelli; John Moore, Brian Ross, Jamie Moore and Duane Ross and four great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Karen Taylor officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PAMilitary services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
