Elizabeth Garonzi, 102, Greensburg, PA formerly of Lucernemines, PA passed away on Monday, January 10, 2005 at her home.The daughter of Dominico and Maria Garonzi, she was born November 26, 1902 in Rovere' Veronese, Verona, Italy.Mrs. Garonzi was a member of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Lucernemines, PA and was a charter member of the Altar Society at St. Louis. She also attended St. John Baptist De LaSalle Catholic Church, Delmont, PA.Mrs. Garonzi came to the United States from Italy in 1926 where her name is engraved on Ellis Island.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.Surviving are six children, Marie Succheralli of Homer City, PA; Reno Garonzi of Homer City, PA; Inez Mouser and her husband, John of Lucernemines, PA; Tulio Garonzi of Indiana, PA; Florence Pace of Greensburg, PA and Jean Blakley and her husband, Herm of Shelocta, PA; 23 grandchildren; 25 and counting great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tulio Garonzi in 1953 whom she married in February, 1926; a son, Bruno Garonzi; three brothers, Angelo, Julio and Pietro Garonzi; three sisters, Josephine Sauro, Elvira Martini and infant Maria Garonzi.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Vigil Service will be held on Tuesday at 3:30 P.M. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:15 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Lucernemines, PA with Fr. Larry Kiniry as celebrant.Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
