Edgar W. "Blackie" Williams, 91, of Pittsburgh, PA formerly of Derry Twp., PA passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2005 in Scott Twp., Allegheny Co., PA.The son of Howard Wilson and Carrie Maulhallen Williams, he was born September 5, 1913 in Portage, PA.Mr. Williams attended the United Methodist Church, New Alexandria, PA and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66, the Early Birds bowling league of Latrobe and the society of Highway Engineers.Prior to his retirement in 1965, he was employed as a foreman for Vipond and Vipond Construction.Surviving are two daughters, Carol Ann Brant and her husband, Herbert of Carnegie, PA and Cheryl Huston of Delmont, PA; seven grandchildren, Chimene Smith, Todd Brant, Brad Huston, Doug Huston, Colleen Dees, Karyn Williams and Kimberly Williams; nine great grandchildren and a sister, Vera Moyer.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Nukem Williams in 1968; a son, Warren "Butch" Williams in 1997; three brothers, Lester, Charles and Emory and a sister, Delpha Clark.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Rick Helsel officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, New Alexandria, PA.
