Michael Beskid, 86, of Blairsville, PA passed away on December 28, 2004 in the Communities at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA.The son of John and Solomea Vresilovics Beskid, he was born July 22, 1918 in Bradenville, PA.Mr. Beskid was a self-employed plumber and lived in Blairsville most of his life.He was a veteran of the US Army.Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Rainey Beskid whom he married January 18, 1975; a son, Edward Beskid of Bristol, Connecticut; two stepsons, Paul T. Lowman and his wife, Debbie of Blairsville, PA; Donald H. Lowman and his wife, Elaine of Apollo, PA; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Leasure and her husband, James of Cherry Tree, PA; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Steve Beskid of Homer City, PA; two sisters, Marie Endress of Indiana, PA and Kay Bavuso of Philadelphia, PA.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Pete Beskid.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 8 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 8:00 P.M. with Fr. Chester J. Raimer officiating.Interment will be private.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
