Paul Peter Sferro, 91, of Blairsville, PA passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The son of Peter and Belinda Deluca Sferro, he was born January 1, 1913 in Lucernemines, PA.Mr. Sferro was a member of the SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #3624, Woodmen of the World #1945 and the Italian Mutual Aid Society all of Blairsville, PA.Mr. Sferro was a well-known barber, having owned Sferro's Barber Shop, Blairsville, for 73 years from 1923 to 1996.Surviving are two sons, Robert Sferro and his wife, Karla of Cincinnati, Ohio and Peter R. Sferro and his wife, Jo of Rochester, Michigan and two daughters, Paula Austin and her husband, William of Boynton Beach, Florida and Regina Oswald and her husband, Edward of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a brother, Lundy Sferro of Blairsville, PA and three sisters, Rose Gasbarro of Columbus, Ohio; Florence Barcara of Niagara Falls, New York and Margaret Mehallo of Cleveland, Ohio.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Clarisa L. "Clara" Coradini Sferro on September 16, 2003; two brothers, Elmer and Reno Sferro; and three sisters, Mary Sandy, Norena Sferro and Dolores George.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held on Sunday at 8:30 P.M. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary in the funeral home on Sunday at 8:00 P.M.
