J. Paul Cochran, 86, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2004 in St. Andrew's Village, Indiana, PA.The son of Ira M. and Mabel Lydic Cochran, he was born September 2, 1918 in Center Twp., PA.Mr. Cochran was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church, Center Twp. where he was a ruling elder, trustee and served on the cemetery committee. He also was a member of UMWA #488.He was a retired farmer and coal miner He retired from R&P Coal Company in 1981. Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Cochran of Blairsville, PA and Richard C. Cochran and his wife, Naomi of Blairsville, PA; two daughters, Carolyn Good and her husband, George of Homer City, PA and Marilyn K. Cochran of Blairsville, PA; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Mary Margaret Stuchell Cochran on February 23, 2004; a son, James I. Cochran and three brothers, Miles, Carl and Earl Cochran.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA and Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, Center Twp. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. in the Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert W. Goossen officiating.Interment will be in the church cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1470 Bethel Church Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
