Frances V. Moorhead Stillwagon, 90, of West Newton, PA formerly of Blairsville, PA died on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 in the TLC Adult Care Center, West Newton, PA.The daughter of Watson D. and Wilmina Fleming Moorhead, she was born September 16, 1913 in Hollidays Cove, West Virginia.Mrs. Stillwagon was a member of the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville Chapter #166 Order of the Eastern Star and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.She graduated from Indiana High School in 1931 and from Allegheny Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1935. She graduated with the first Bachelor of Science degree in nursing class in 1960 from IUP.She worked at Allegheny General Hospital and Torrance State Hospital. She was a school nurse at Blairsville High School for 26 years from 1950 until her retirement in 1976.Surviving are her daughter, Linda Trice and her husband, John of Ruffsdale, PA; three grandchildren, Barbara Bridge, Terri Joann Smith and Eric Bridge; two great grandchildren, Trista Smith and Taleena Smith; four brothers, Clarence Moorhead of Fennellton, PA; Glenn Moorhead of Latrobe, PA; Wythe Moorhead of Volant, PA and Edgar Moorhead of Sarver, PA; and two sisters, Jane Eshbaugh of Kingsville, PA and Pauline Gasbarro of Blairsville, PA.She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Dale, Paul and Ralph Moorhead.The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Roger D. Petersen officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
