Sharon Morrison Williams, 50, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) died on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 in the Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of Stuart Malcoll and Shirley Frosdick Morrison, she was born April 25, 1954 in Buffalo, New York.She graduated from Penn State in 1976 with a degree in journalism and photography and received her master's degree from Penn State in public relations. She attended Florida State University studying public administration.Mrs. Williams served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1986 and in the Navy Reserves from 1986 to 1997, retiring as a Navy Commander. She retired from Bell Atlantic as a service representative in 2000.She was a member of the Naval Reserve Officers Association, American Legion at Large, Pennsylvania Draft Horse and Mule Society and the National Percheron Horse Association.Surviving are her husband, Henry Shields Williams whom she married on January 25, 1981; her parents of Buffalo, New York and two sisters, Linda Taliaferro of Rosemeade, California and Sandra Welliver of Piscataway, New Jersey.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the Bethel Presbyterian Church, Center Twp., PA with Rev. Robert W. Goossen officiating.Interment will be in the church cemetery.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
