Erma Blanch Pesci, 90, of Tumwater, WA, a loving mother and friend to many, went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2004. She will forever be remembered and cherished for her kindness and caring for family and others. She has lived for the past three years with her daughter, Nancy Pesci of Tumwater, WA, but her true home and heart was in Blairsville, PA, where she spent the majority of her adult years. Erma was born in New Florence, PA on May 27, 1914 and has gathered in heaven with her husband of 53 years, Dante L. Pesci, who preceded her in death in 1995, her father and mother, Gilbert and Sallie C. Hull DeWitt, 11 brothers and sisters, as well as many dearly loved relatives and pets.Erma was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, PA, AARP, 50 Plus, Olympia Community Center and was a volunteer at the Blairsville Senior Center.Prior to her retirement in 1974, she was employed by Torrance State Hospital for 25 years as a licensed practical nurse.She is survived and loved by her daughter and friend, Nancy Pesci and Richard Freeman of Tumwater, WA; two sons, Ernest Pesci and his wife, Carol of Indiana, PA and Edward Pesci and his wife, Elizabeth of Greensburg, PA; four grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Laura and David Pesci and her very close and loving sister, Mildred Prisk of New Florence, PA.Erma gave love and comfort to many. She will forever be cherished. God will now keep her healthy in his comfort and care.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, PA with Rev. Karen R. Taylor officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
