Chester R. Pezzi, 86, of Blairsville, PA died on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.A son of Cesare and Selena Culatina Pezzi, he was born February 22, 1918 in Blairsville, PA.Mr. Pezzi lived his entire life in Blairsville where he was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church and the Italian Mutual Aid Society.He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army.Prior to his retirement in 1989, he was employed by Dick Corporation.Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Flora Beppler Pezzi whom he married November 22, 1949; two daughters, Linda Cumberledge and her husband, Duwane of Spring Church, PA and Connie McGann and her husband, Walter of Blairsville, PA; four grandchildren, Shelly Gould and her husband, Rich; Thomas Meloy; Douglas Thomas and his wife, Jessica and Jill Thomas and her friend, Bob Dilliman; two great granddaughters, Cailyn and Mallory Gould.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gina Paniale; a niece, Dolly Rellick and a nephew, Donald Paniale.The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Blessing service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 in the funeral home with Fr. Chester J. Raimer officiating.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
