Mary Jane Bergman Borish, 77, of Black Lick, PA died on Monday, May 17, 2004 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.A daughter of James L. and Elizabeth Conner Bergman, she was born February 11, 1927 in Blairsville, PA.Mrs. Borish was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, and the Blairsville Chapter #166 Order of the Eastern Star.She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1946 and enjoyed sewing and playing bingo.Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed by Campus Sportswear, Indiana, for 29 years.Surviving are her husband of 56 years, John Borish whom she married October 4, 1947; a daughter, Paula B. Daskivich and her husband, Tom of Black Lick, PA and a sister, Wanda Phillips of Blairsville, PA.She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald in 1963; son-in-law, William R. Lewis in 1971; grandson, William J. Lewis in 1997; brother, Clair Conner and four sisters, Romaine, Pat, Jean and Barbara.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Karen R. Taylor officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Memorial contribution may be made to the Hebron Lutheran Church, 125 N. Liberty St., Blairsville, PA 15717
