Mary C. Wheland Butler, 95, of Blairsville, PA died on Sunday, April 25, 2004 in Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.A daughter of John and Minnie May Rosencrans Wheland, she was born on January 15, 1909 in Warrior's Mark, Huntingdon Co., PA.Mrs. Butler lived for 54 years on Brown Street. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville since 1928, the Martha Circle and the former Truth Seeker Class of the church and the Historical Society of the Blairsville Area.Surviving are a granddaughter, Barbara Frenn and her husband, Jon of Hawthorn Woods, IL; three great-grandchildren, Max, Marie and Samantha Frenn and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Washington "Dutch" Butler on August 23, 1971; a daughter, Lucille B. Dunchak in 1990; son-in-law, Jack Dunchak in 1999; a sister, Martha Hamer and three brothers, Roy, Guy and Fred.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Dean E. Byrom officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
