James R. Warnick, 55, of Derry, PA died on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.A son of William and Beatrice Gray Warnick, he was born September 12, 1948 in Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA.He graduated from Derry Area High School in 1966 and worked as a laborer. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War.Surviving is a son James R. Warnick of Egan, MN and four brothers and three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Nick Warnick.The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Karen R. Taylor officiating.Interment will be in Coles Cemetery, Derry, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
