Sophie A. Straka Soler, 91, of Blairsville, PA died on Monday, December 29, 2003 in the Keeper of the Flame, Blairsville, PA.A daughter of Paul and Veronica Canecki Straka, she was born February 9, 1912 in Czechoslovakia.Mrs. Soler was a member of the SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.She is survived by two sons, John Soler and his wife, Patty, Clarksburg, PA and James Soler and his wife, Donna Lou, Clarksburg, PA; three daughters, Dorothy Humphreys and her husband, Robert, Edmons, Washington; Dolores Chovanec, Blairsville, PA and Janet Good, Blairsville, PA; ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adelino Soler in 1969; two brothers, Andrew and Anthony and two sisters, Annie Marchetti and Mary Johnson.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Wake service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 P.M. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. in the SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, Saltsburg, PA.
