Bertha E. Anthony Flenniken, 90, of Blairsville, PA died on Saturday, December 27, 2003 in the Green Oaks Personal Care Home, Black Lick, PA.A daughter of Jess and Blanche Blakley Anthony, she was born June 16, 1913 in Indiana, PA.Mrs. Flenniken was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville, PA and the Blairsville Grange #2012. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends.She graduated from Indiana High School with the class of 1931.Prior to her retirement in 1990, she worked as a waitress and cashier at Dean's Diner, Blairsville, PA for 30 years.Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Harris and her husband, Sam, Blairsville, PA and Marion L. Mester and her husband, John, Clarksburg, PA; two grandsons, Dr. Jeffrey Harris and his wife, Rose Mary and Gregory Harris; and a great grandson, Collin Samuel Harris.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hamilton N. Flenniken in 1958.The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey L. Ruff officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
