Carl J. Weinell, 83, of Blairsville, PA died on Thursday, December 25, 2003 in the Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A son of Joseph J. and Nellie Rosborough Weinell, he was born April 21, 1920 in Blairsville, PA.Mr. Weinell was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville, PA; the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen; United Transportation Union; 50-year member of the Blairsville Grange #2012 and the AARP.Prior to his retirement in 1964, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a brakeman/conductor.He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Grace E. Howard Weinell to whom he married November 12, 1946; a son, Larry L. Weinell and his wife, Jane, Brenizer, PA; two daughters, Sandra G. Ingmire and her husband, Charles, Blairsville, PA and Ronda J. Weinell, New Alexandria, PA; six grandchildren, Brian Weinell, Michael Weinell, Mark Weinell, Erik Ingmire, Rev. Robert Ingmire and Ryan Gallagher; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Arthur L. Weinell and his wife, Kitty, Blairsville, PA and a sister, Donna Carlson and her husband, Richard, Derry, PA.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and James and three sisters, Lois Jenner, Alice Weinell and Louise Weinell.The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dean E. Byrom officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
