Paul C. Smith, 94, of Black Lick, PA died on Saturday, December 13, 2003 died at the home of his daughter, Veronica Buggey, Blairsville, PA.A son of Daniel C. and Mildred G. Weakland Smith, he was born March 16, 1909 in Rosebud, Clearfield Co., PA.Mr. Smith was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Coral, PA and the Disabled American Veterans.He worked as a coal miner and was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy.Surviving are a son, Paul D. Smith and his wife, Debbie, Black Lick, PA; seven daughters, Patricia Dunlap and her husband, Dale, Clarksburg, PA; Verna Bruner, Homer City, PA; Mildred Horosh and her husband, William, Buffalo, NY; Ruth Snyder and her husband, Ron, Black Lick, PA; Betty Sharp and her husband, Donald, Clarksburg, PA; Pauline Yerecic, Blairsville, PA and Veronica Buggey and her husband, Robert, Blairsville, PA; 24 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Wilds, New Kensington, PA.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel G. Clark Smith on February 7, 1991; a half-brother, Walter Mark; three grandchildren, Gregory Snyder, Cheryl Snyder McConnell and William Bruner and a great grandson, Jeremy Snyder.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Coral, PA with Fr. Larry Kinary as celebrant.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PAMilitary services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
