Martha Jane Beatty Schaeffer, 78, of Blairsville, PA died on Thursday, October 16, 2003 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA. A daughter of Ralph and Margaret E. McAfee Ferguson Beatty, she was born March 18, 1925 in Blairsville, PA. Mrs. Schaeffer graduated from Blairsville High School with the class of 1943 and was very active with the class reunion committee. She had worked for the Blairsville-Saltsburg School district as a cook, retiring in 1982. Surviving are two children, Mark Schaeffer and his wife, Colleen, Blairsville, PA and Marna Jones and her husband, Denny, West Wheatfield Twp., PA;four grandchildren, twins, Shelly and Sheila Jones and twins, Adam and Cory Schaeffer; and a sister, Theresa Conn, North Huntington Twp., PA.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville O. Schaeffer, Jr. in 1991; a grandson, Robbie Jones in 1997; brother, Bill Ferguson on 2001 and a sister, Nancy Stein in 2003.The family will recieve friends on Friday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. 49 North Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Jeffery L. Ruff officiating. Interment will be held in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
