Alan Holsinger, Jr.

Alan Holsinger, Jr., 93, of Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Village, with his loving family by his side.

A son of the late Orville A. and Mary (Bayer) Holsinger, Sr., he was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Johnstown.

Alan Holsinger loved his family, his faith and his community. He graduated from Grove City College and earned his Law Degree from Ohio State. Alan began his law practice in 1956 which operates today as Holsinger, Clark and Armstrong. Graystone Church was an important part of his life. He and his wife of 53 years, Nikhi, enjoyed many travel adventures. Alan was known for being a sharp dresser. Throughout the years he was involved in numerous civic organizations and is remembered for his positive influences. He was president when the ground for the current YMCA was purchased, and the first building built. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing and would never turn down a dessert.

Alan passed away peacefully after a long and fulfilling life.

He is survived by four children, Becky Holsinger, of Palmer, AK; David A. Holsinger and wife Joanne, of Pinckney, MI; Gregory C. Holsinger and wife Pam, of Indiana; Bryan J. Holsinger and wife Kathy, of Poland, OH; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Linnea, Albert, Brandon, Nicole, Michael, Stephanie, Allyson, Michelle, Matthew; 18 great-grandchildren, and good friend, Avonelle Whitacre.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nikhi (Clark) Holsinger, his second wife, Judy (Moorhead) Holsinger; and two sisters, Betty Campbell and Doris Kennedy.

Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Graystone Presbyterian Church, 640 Church Street, Indiana, with Pastor Joe Stroup officiating.
