Alberta G. Blystone

Alberta Gertrude (Stiles) Blystone, 94, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) died on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Gilbert and Nettie (Starry) Stiles, she was born on October 11, 1930, in Homer City, PA.

She worked at the former Cribbs Nursing Home (Beacon Manor) as a nurse’s aide.

Alberta loved her family and enjoyed those special moments when she could spend time with them.

Surviving are four children, Sandra Davenport (Brett) of New Florence, David Blystone (Evelyn) of Blairsville, Mark Blystone (Lisa) of Blairsville, Lloyd Blystone of New Florence; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert C. Blystone on January 12, 2002, a son, Robert G. Blystone on May 6, 2018, three brothers, Harold Stiles, Sydney Stiles, and Clyde Smith, and a sister, Vernie McGrath.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 8th at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating.

Interment will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, West Wheatfield Twp., PA.
