Annabell Auen

Annabell Mikesell Auen, 93, of Blairsville passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family.

The daughter of Augustus B. Mikesell and Lucretia (Mahan) Mikesell, she was born in Livermore, PA on May 8, 1926.

She is a graduate of Saltsburg High School Class of 1943. She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Blairsville. She was a former choir member and Sunday school teacher, and secretary of the Women’s Society at church.

She enjoyed writing poems and stories. She also enjoyed walking her dogs.

Annabell is survived by daughters, Sherry Alicea (Jose) of Blairsville and Linda Armendariz (Grant) of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Debbie Palmer, Ashley Armendariz, Melanie Paddock and Lindsey Armendariz; great grandson, Chad Dickson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl E. Auen in 2007; daughter, Mary Lou Auen; infant son, Billy Auen; granddaughter, Paula Dickson; grandson, Todd Palmer; sister Iola Auen; stepsister, Gladys Short; stepbrother, Glenn Lewis.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm. Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. John L. Buchman officiating.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
