Barbara L. Fertal

Barbara Lee (May) Fertal, 73, of Blairsville, PA, (Derry Twp.) passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

The daughter of Thomas J. and Arlene (Burkhart) May, she was born January 27, 1951 in Johnstown, PA.

Mrs. Fertal graduated from United High School, Class of 1969 and was a member of Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, PA.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and making decorations for the holidays.

Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Garry A. Fertal whom she married on April 11, 1969, three daughters, Lisa D. Campbell of Blairsville, Laura A. Rohland (Gerald) of Pittsburgh and Crystal L. Gademsey (Joe) of Torrance; four grandchildren, Stephen, Cory, Keegan and Kassidy; her stepmother, Jean May of Johnstown; and two brothers, James May and William May both of Johnstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons-in-law, Roy Campbell and Carl Thomas.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Craig Hess officiating.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
