Betty L. Duffner

Betty L. (McAfoos) Duffner, 89, formerly of Blairsville, PA., passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019, in Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA.

Betty was the daughter of Earl D. and Esther E. (Potts) McAfoos, she was born February 5, 1930 in Bolivar, PA.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Hilary R. Duffner on October 15, 1987, whom she married November 20, 1948.

Betty enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking/baking, crocheting, reading and doing word search books.

Surviving is a daughter, Linda A. (Duffner) Sracic and husband, John M. of Maytown, and a son, John R. “Dick” Duffner and wife, Julie of New Franklin, OH; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (McAfoos) Shenk of Lititz; Eva (McAfoos) Lasher of Kittanning and Alicia (McAfoos) Lynn of Blairsville; two brothers, David D. McAfoos and wife, Darlene (Olechoveski) McAfoos of Black Lick and Earl “Pete” D. McAfoos, Jr. and wife, Patricia M. (Holub) McAfoos of Las Vegas, NV and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ira O. “Buzz” McAfoos in 2011 and a sister, Patricia E. (McAfoos) Lee in 1999.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 3:00pm Thursday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut Street, Blairsville, PA.  A prayer service will be held at 3:00pm in the funeral home with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay officiating

Interment will be in SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
