Carole Marie (McCrady) Cessna Lebbano, 87, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Carole Marie McCrady on July 9, 1937 in Homer City. Her parents were William and Ruth (Bennett) McCrady. She lived her whole life in Indiana County.
Carole worked as a self-employed beautician, as she cared for her children at home. She also worked at Grace Global Methodist Church as the pastor’s secretary. Carole loved to dance all of her life. She taught lessons, as well as enjoyed learning new styles and attending oldies dances and concerts with her husband Mike. She loved her grand dogs, being active, reading books, writing poetry and painting. She fiercely cared for and protected those around her and approached life with passion and strength. Her grandchildren say she made everything fun and an adventure. Carole’s greatest legacy is her example of faith, with all of her children and grandchildren following the Lord. She loved Jesus Christ with all of her heart and lived her life to glorify Him. She was an active member of Grace Global Methodist Church in Indiana.
She is survived by her cousin/”sister”/friend, Kathleen Mustard; and her two children: Debra Cessna Rickard (Robert), of Indiana; and Gregory Cessna (Denise), of Dadeville, Ala. Carole adored her grandchildren, Ashley Rickard Brichetto (Peter), of Akron, Ohio; Robert Rickard (Elizabeth),of Pittsburgh; Matthew Cessna (Lisa), of Atlanta, Ga.; Christopher Cessna (Lauren), of Atlanta, Ga. and Rebecca Cessna Butcher (Chris), of Atlanta, Ga. They were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Ava Cessna, Jackson and Bennett Cessna, Caroline Butcher, Emma Rickard and one more on the way.
In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbur Cessna and second husband, Michael “Mike” Lebbano.
Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, with Pastor Bill Blair officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to Grace Global Methodist Church, P.O. Box 6, Indiana, Pa 15701, directed to Carole’s Blessings Fund.
