Charles Michael Smith, Sr.

Charles Michael Smith, Sr., 68, of Ligonier, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.

The son of Michael and Olive (Bisel) Smith, he was born June 13, 1953 in Latrobe, PA.

Charles loved his church family and was a member of the Emmanuel Bible Church, Norvelt.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and having family cookouts.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to flea markets.

Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Charmaine L. (Palinkas) Smith, a daughter, Charmaine Smith of Greensburg; a son, Charles M. Smith, Jr. (Tricia) of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Austin and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Kalilah; a brother, James Smith (Barbara) of New Stanton; three sisters, Violet Bassinger (George) of Everson; Barbara Mayo of Mt. Pleasant and Robin Krisnosky (Daniel) of Penn and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Felix and Robert and a sister, Margaret Bisel.

As per the wishes of Charles, there will be no visitation or service.
