Darlene G. Mcmullen

Darlene Gail McMullen, 79, of Grasonville, Md., passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, at Compass Hospice in Centreville, Md.

Darlene was the loving daughter of the late Donald A. and Edna M. (Fisher) McMullen, of Monroeville and Oakmont.

Darlene graduated from Oakmont High School in the class of 1962 and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania for over two years. After which, she moved around the United States, attended classes at the University of Maryland, worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C., and retired as a staff member of the United States House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.

Darlene is survived by her brothers, Ron McMullen and wife Barbara, and Don McMullen, Jr. and wife Madeline. Also surviving are her beloved nephews, Dana Andrew McMullen and fiancée Kim, and Brad McMullen and wife Lorena. In addition to her nephews, Darlene especially adored her great nephews and great nieces, Joshua and fiancée Natalie, Kyle, Sabrina, Gabriela and Daniela McMullen. She held an adopted niece, Stephanie McMullen-Mejia, her husband Milton and their daughter, Naomi, so very special. Her cousin, Nancy Haalman, husband Mickey, was always a close friend as they were only a year apart. They will all cherish the many memories of Darlene, and she will forever be in their hearts.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Oakland Cemetery in Indiana. Arrangement have been entrusted to Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana.
