Darlene Ann Shaffer

Darlene A. (Ziruolo) Shaffer, 78 of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

The daughter of Nicola Ziruolo and Angeline (Cappo) Ziruolo, she was born in Derry Twp., PA on May 9, 1941.

Darlene was a member of SS Simon & Jude Catholic Church, Blairsville. She was a graduate of Derry Area High School, Class of 1959.

She worked for Taylor Trucking as a secretary for many years until her retirement in 2016.

She is survived by a sister, Delores Coffman; nieces, Chanda Schmidt, Kim Griffith, and Margaret Crocker; nephews, Jeff Coffman, and Ronald Ziruolo; a great niece, Maryn Dempsey; and a great nephew Jacob Dempsey.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Paul Shaffer who died September 16, 2017; her parents, Nicola and Angeline (Cappo) Ziruolo; a sister, Margaret Ziruolo; and a brother, Edward (Popeye) Ziruolo.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, 155 N Brady St, Blairsville, PA 15717 with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant.

Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N Walnut Street, Blairsville, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Darlene’s memory may be made to, SS Simon & Jude Catholic Church at 155 N Brady St, Blairsville, PA 15717.
