Doris Grace Patterson

Doris Grace (Ramsey) Patterson, 87, of Black Lick, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in Beacon Ridge Nursing Home, Indiana.

She was the daughter of Robert H. Ramsey and Alverta (Weaver) Ramsey; she was born on August 18, 1932 in Saxton, PA.

Doris was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Black Lick, PA, where she was involved with the United Methodist women working and helping at the church. She was also a member of the Chestnut Hills Senior Center.

Doris enjoyed gardening, reading, working around the house, watching the birds, and always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Ruhl (Michael) of Indiana, and Alan Patterson (Denise) of Severn, MD; a brother, Kenneth Ramsey (Dorothy) of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren, Adam Patterson (Mandie), Tasha Patterson, David Ruhl (Maranda), and Jon Ruhl; and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Duane L. Patterson who died in 1985.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 P.M. Friday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Mark Heckman officiating.

Interment will be in Dudley Methodist Cemetery, Dudley, PA, Huntingdon County.
