Elizabeth J. Madey, 87, of Clune PA, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Elizabeth was born on April 21, 1932 in Clune, PA. She was the daughter of the late Giovanni (John) Cicola and Vencenza (Jennie) Serrian Cicola and beloved wife of the late Joseph Madey.
A 1949 graduate of Elders Ridge High School, she lived in Clune, PA until the age of 24. In 1952 she married Joseph Madey and in 1956 moved to Dearborn, MI until 1984. While in Dearborn she worked part-time as a Postal Clerk at the Dearborn Post Office. She also was employed as a Traffic Attendant for the Dearborn Police Department for 10 years. Upon returning to PA in 1984 she made her home in Clune, PA.
Elizabeth was a devoted Catholic and member of the Church of The Good Shepherd, Kent, PA. She proudly served as an Usher.
She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo and above all else, loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her.
Surviving is her sister, Josephine and brother-in-law, Tony Cassiere of Clune, PA, and brother-in-law, Raymond Gundy of Indiana, PA; her nieces, Patricia Ide, Diane Dalessio, and Rosie Gundy; nephews, Joie Aloise, Ray Gundy, Tony Cassiere, John Gundy, and Jason and Zerek Cassiere; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; and also special friend, Ron Yacenich.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Madey; sister Carmela and brother-in-law Joe Fink, sister Giovanna and brother-in-law Joe Aloise, and sister Rose Ann Gundy.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Robinson-Lytle Funeral Home, Inc., 36 N. Seventh St., Indiana, PA. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:15 A.M Saturday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, PA with Fr. Matthew Morelli celebrant.
A private interment at St. Bernard’s Cemetery will take place at a later date.
All services are being handled by Robinson-Lytle Funeral Home, Indiana, PA.
