Eric J. Olsen

Eric J. Olsen, 61, of Wernersville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at Reading Hospital.

A son of the late Joseph A. and Fay R. (McAnulty) Olsen, he was born March 11, 1962, in Indiana.

Eric received an associate degree from Vale Technical Institute. He moved to the Reading area where he was employed as a car mechanic for Bayliss Oldsmobile, working his way up to service manager for many years. His most recent job was as a service advisor at Keller Brothers.

Eric was an avid golfer beginning at an early age. He loved to grill on Sundays and enjoyed watching the Steelers, going on bike rides, spending time with the kids throwing a football in the yard and taking his beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback, Nile, to Blue Marsh Lake to run and play.

He is survived by three children: Ashley Olsen, Connor Olsen and Kayla Olsen; two sisters: Kathy Olsen and Trudy Williams; and a granddaughter, Hailey Long.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Calarie Kington.

Visitation is private. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Oakland Cemetery with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
