Ethel G. Bukosky

Ethel Grace (Longenecker) Bukosky, 93, of Blairsville, PA passed away with her loving son by her side on Sunday, January 21, 2024, in the Communities of Indian Haven, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Harry W. and Goldie Mae (Bowers) Longenecker, she was born May 21, 1930, in Grafton, PA (Burrell Twp.).

Ethel graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1948.

She was a member of the SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville where she served as a Eucharistic minister and with the Angels of Compassion.  She was a former member of the Parrish Council, women’s choir, and cantor.

Ethel was a member of a ladies’ card group for over 40 years, and enjoyed sewing, reading, and especially flower gardening.

Surviving is her son, Thomas J. (Dolores) Bukosky of Blairsville; a grandson, Adam (Nicole) Bukosky; three great grandchildren, Madison Lekawa, Olivia Lekawa, and Jacob Bukosky; and a devoted companion of seven years, Bob Wineman of Homer City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, John on December 29, 2012, a daughter, Kathleen Richards on August 1, 2006, two brothers, Clair Longenecker and Sutton Stahl, two sisters, Thelma Kuty and Roene Patrick.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville where a wake service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday at SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, 155 N. Brady St., Blairsville with Rev. Segundino Laude, celebrant.

Interment will be in the SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville .
