Evella L. Sylvis

Evella Louise (Dukes) Sylvis, 59, of Clymer, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at her home.

The daughter of Lloyd D. and Gladys L. (Skillings) Dukes, she was born December 12, 1963, in Latrobe, PA.

Evella loved the Lord and loved watching church programs on TV. She enjoyed playing cards and visiting with family and friends, listening to country music and coloring in adult coloring books.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisaree Dukes of Lima, OH and Megan Kephart (Scott) of Burnside; seven grandchildren, Jaylin Robertson, Scott Kephart, Lillymae Kephart, La-Niyah Beck, Levi Beck, Gionna Dukes and Theo Brown; two sisters, Timara Hall (Irv) of Hillside and Rhonda Dukes of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Arnold Skillings (Linda) of Blairsville, and Vince Skillings of Blairsville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Japan Skillings and David Dukes.

Family and friends will be received from 3 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville with Bishop Derrick S. Johnson, Sr officiating.

The family is requesting donations to be made to the funeral home to help cover the cost of the funeral.
