Evelyn Kalen

Evelyn (Lorenzik) Kalen, 103, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 in North Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center, Wexford, PA.

The daughter of Andrew Lorenzik and Katherine (Krivonick) Lorenzik; she was born January 25, 1917 in Black Lick Twp., Indiana Co., PA.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Bell Telephone Co., Black Lick, PA.

Mrs. Kalen was a member of the Lutheran Chapel in Coral, PA.

She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Black Lick Fire Department, past president of Mary D. Bell Rebekah Lodge, served as Cancer Chairman of Burrell Twp. and enjoyed square dancing with the Mountain View Squares.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Wilhelms (Richard) of Macedonia, OH and Sandra Libengood (Ron) of Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren, Cheryl Blackwell (Frank), Melissa Baker (Kyle), Debbie Wilhelms, Lannette Reese (Bob), and Linda Sarver (Chuck); ten great grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Austin, Braden, Jordan, Evan, Matthew, Kalynn, Julia, and Dylan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kalen who died in 1987; her parents; two brothers, Johnny and Mike Lorenzik; four sisters, Mary Clawson, Ann Onufer, Margaret Lagoda, and Catherine Bondra.

Due to the health concerns of COVID-19, services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
