Frank R. Prola

Frank Richard Prola, 73, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at his home.

The son of Victor R. and Julia (Flasick) Prola, he was born December 5, 1950, in Indiana, PA.

Frank graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1968 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  In 2011, Frank retired after working 37 years with Amtrak.

He was a member of the SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville.

Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He collected model trains and liked to garden.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Deborah A. (Fekete) Prola, whom he married on June 11, 1977; three children, Nicole L. Prola (partner, Preston Saunders) of Johnstown, PA, Jennifer H. Prola of Blairsville, and Stephanie A. Prola (partner, Justin Argentine) of Mingo Junction, OH; six grandchildren, Katie, Jordan, Bradley, Sydney, Chanel, and Amelia; two brothers, Joseph Prola of Blairsville and Richard (Mary) Prola of Severn, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Prola, and sister Lillian Neal.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1st from 6-8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville where a wake service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday.

Prayers of Transfer will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, 155 N. Brady St., Blairsville with Rev. Stephen R. Bugay, celebrant.

Interment will be in the SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.

Military services will be conducted at the cemetery by the Blairsville Military Honor Guard.
