Garry L. Short

Garry Lee Short, 67, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

The son of Walter E. and Christine D. (DiPerna) Short, he was born on April 30, 1956, in Latrobe, PA. Garry graduated from Derry Area High School, Class of 1974 and was a veteran of the US Army.  He was a self-employed truck driver.

He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle, attending drag races, and fishing.

Surviving are two daughters, Tanya Short of Seward, and Tracy Short of New Florence; four grandchildren, Destiny, Logan, Landon, and Keyira; two great grandchildren, Marshall and Owen; a brother, Paul J. Short (Brenda) of Gray Station; two sisters, Doloris Cowan of Brenizer, and Patricia Davis of Derry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Short.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 4 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville with Rev. James Henigin officiating.

Interment will be in Germany Lutheran Cemetery, New Florence, PA.
