Gary L Mccaulley

Gary Lee McCaulley, 73, of Latrobe, PA passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, in UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, PA.

The son of Vincent B. and Betty G. (Parks) McCaulley, he was born March 16, 1950, in Rimersburg, PA.

Gary was a member and employee of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).  He worked for AFSCME for 30 years until his retirement in 2010.

He loved watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, reading, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas.

Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Barbara G. (Meloy) McCaulley whom he married on March 4, 1972, his daughter, Carrie L. Elrick (Stephen) of Blairsville; his granddaughter, Morgan Elrick (fiancé, Dustin McCallen); and three sisters, Cathy Metalla of Seward, Anna Flowers of Fairchance, and Rose Lobo of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ronald McCaulley, and a sister, Gloria J. Porter.

As per Gary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
