Gary A. Myers

Gary Allen Myers, 63, of Derry, PA passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

The son of William and Evelyn (Kitzmiller) Myers, he was born on April 8, 1960, in Latrobe, PA.

Gary was a graduate of Derry High School, Class of 1978, and a veteran of the US Air Force.  He worked for 30 years as a Bio Medical Tech in the Independence Health System.

Gary attended Chapel of Hope, Black Lick, where he served on the worship team.

He loved playing with his grandchildren, enjoyed playing volleyball at the Blairsville Community Center, and was an avid hunter.

Surviving is his wife of 21 years, Jodi L. (Kellerman) Myers, whom he married on June 15, 2002; his father, William Myers of Derry; two stepsons, Jason Patz (Autumn) of Acme, and Justin Patz (Jocelyn) of Latrobe; four grandchildren, David, Summer, Ella, and Ethan; three brothers, Kenneth Myers (Pam) of Derry, Robert Myers (Laurie) of Punxsutawney, and Timothy Myers (Janet) of Derry; several aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn (Kitzmiller) Myers on December 6, 2023.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Josh Reid officiating.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville Military Honor Guard.
