Grace L. Sulkosky

Grace Lucille (Bruner) Sulkosky, 84, of Hillsdale, PA, formerly of Blairsville, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Embassy of Hillsdale Park, Hillsdale, PA.

The daughter of Wilbur M. and Anna M. (Clawson) Bruner, she was born on December 6, 1940, in Indiana, PA.

Grace was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, Indiana and Black Lick Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Black Lick.

Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the most important part of her life, and her home was always open and welcoming, filling all that visited with laughter, love, and food.

Grace worked as a caregiver most of her life and in her spare time, she enjoyed canning, cooking and baking.

Surviving are her three children, Cindy L. Buffone of Blairsville, Leroy A. Sulkosky, Jr. (Heidi) of Blairsville, and Tresa A. Hibbs (Richard) of Blairsville; 10 grandchildren, Christie Laidacker, Heather Donaldson, Katie Buffone, Jordan Gibson, Noah Tarr, Seth Sulkosky, Randy Boyd, Christopher Hibbs, Justin Boyd and Jamie Kerr; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Leroy A. Sulkosky, Sr. on May 7, 2017, her daughter, Darla Weaver in 2023, four sisters, Patty McGinity, Ruth Silvus, Ethel Wheeler, and Alice Dunmire, an infant sister, Betty Bruner, and five brothers, John Bruner, Emmert Bruner, Chuck Bruner, William Bruner, and Wayne Bruner.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM at the Independent Traditional Holiness Church, 5065 Ferguson Rd., Indiana, PA 15701 with Rev. Randy Perry officiating.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
