Gwenda Sue Cook, 75, of Vernon, Tx, recently residing in Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Norman L. and Wanda M. (Owens) Montgomery, she was born May 28, 1948, in Ladonia, TX. Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vernon, where she often traveled and sang with her husband. She was known to be a veracious reader, loved cooking, her dogs, her friends, but most importantly, her family. Holidays were always special with Sue.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Jana Villemain and husband Bo, of Indiana; three grandchildren: Ean Villemain and fiancée Rebecca Cash, Erin Villemain, Seth Villemain and fiancée Isabella Rice; and three great-grandchildren: Delilah, Ezra and Liliana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Charles H. Cook, U.S. Army, Retired, and her son, Glen S. Cook.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating. Interment will be in Fort Sill Army Base, Lawton, OK.
