Hershel Ray Rice, Jr.

Hershel Ray Rice, Jr., 51, of Blairsville, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 in his home.

The son of Lillian (Shultz) Rice and the late Hershel Ray Rice, Sr, he was born March 13, 1968 in Dunkirk, NY.

Hershel worked 25 years as a machine operator for Dormont Manufacturing, Export.

He was a volunteer of the Food Bank in Derry. He enjoyed riding his Harley and liked a good pizza.

In addition to his mother, Lillian Rice of Derry; Hershel is survived by his significant other of five years, Meghan Krieger of Blairsville; a son, Hershel R. Rice, III and his wife, Erin of Connecticut; two daughters, Felicia L. Rice and fiancé, Jared Griffith of Marion Center and Alexis Garrison and husband, Jake of Florida; one grandson; siblings, Efrain Ortiz of Eldred and Beatrice Ortiz of Derry.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 4:00 PM in the chapel at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc.,  49 N. Walnut Street. Blairsville, PA 15717 with Pastor Dick Motzing officiating.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
