Ila A. Weaver, 96, of Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Rose Haven Personal Care Home.
A daughter of the late Deloin D. and Bertha M. (London) Henley, she was born March 15, 1928, in Ernest.
Ila taught Sunday school at Plumville Presbyterian Church. She worked at Doud’s Furniture, where she was a highly respected interior designer. Following her interior designing career, she went back to school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and started a teaching career at IUP. Ila traveled extensively abroad to China, the Holy Land, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Australia and France.
She is survived by two children: Richard D. Weaver and wife Patricia, of Indiana; Lucy R. Cartwright and husband Bruce II, of Pablo, MT; three grandchildren: Rebecca Cogley and husband Andy, Adam Weaver and wife Margaret and Wilson Cartwright; four great-grandchildren: Riley Weaver, Logan Cogley, Elaina Cogley and John Harper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. Weaver, and a sister, Lois Marble.
There is no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at Smicksburg Cemetery with Pastor Bill Blair officiating. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
