Irene Jane Oswalt

Irene Jane Oswalt, 88, of Indiana formerly of Clune, died on Thursday June 18, 2020 in St. Andrews Village, Indiana, PA.

She is the daughter of Charles Modrey and Mary (Kravec) Modrey; she was born on June 26, 1931 in Young Twp., PA.

She was a member of the Summit Church, Indiana and Altman Senior Citizens Group. Irene loved going to church and going uptown to shop.

She is survived by children, Charles “Bud” Oswalt (Sandy) of Indiana, David Oswalt (Linda) of Indiana, Robert Oswalt of Indiana, Mark Oswalt (Susan) of Indiana, Nancy Evanic of Indiana, Ginger Knipe (Randy) of Lower Burrell, and Kimberly Hepler of Vandergrift; fourteen grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Keith Oswalt who died in 2002; her parents; siblings, Joseph Modrey, Mildred Modrey, Charles Modrey, John Modrey, Nicholas Modrey, Sophie Martin, Helen Colinchuk, and Pauline Bosch; children, Pam Peace and Shirley Perry.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N. 7th St., Indiana, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Dick Motzing officiating.

Interment will be at 10:00 A.M, Tuesday in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
